Southern Cruisers Riding Club
We were gathering at a favourite coffee shop of the local bikers at George Street, Sydney, Nova Scotia, where we met a couple of riders from Quebec, Indiana and Toronto . They said that they didn’t travel together but met a 150 miles down the road and were on their way to ride the World Famous Cabot Trail. They told us about a club that they were members of which was family oriented and that the members were worldwide. They told me a few stories about their adventures and that one member wanted to ride the lower warmer states in the winter and he got in contact with another member from down south who lived near the I-95. He left his truck and trailer in good hands and was able to go on his ride. This opened up possibilities for us and for anybody else that wanted to join a club that promoted an environment that made you feel that you and your gear would be safe. I talked to my wife who is also a rider and a couple of friends about the idea of setting up a chapter here and how we can make new friends and also promote the world famous Cabot Trail. We inquired into setting up a chapter in Cape Breton and after a few emails and telephone calls, Chapter 291 was born.
